Case

Ebonised case with chamfered and stepped pediment with brass mounted ripple-moulded cornice, brass lined chamfered angles with brass stringing to the base, standing on bun feet.

Dial

Arched dial plate, white enamel dial with Roman numerals signed Barraud’s, Cornhill London 1060 with foliate engraved mask below.

Movement

The twin fusee arched plate movement with anchor escapement, adjustable pendulum with locking nut. Hour rack striking on a bell mounted to the backplate, signed Barrauds, Cornhill, London.

Very good condition.

Barraud made fine marine and pocket chronometers and, together with W Howells and G Jamieson in the 1790s, was commissioned to make chronometers for Thomas Mudge Jnr.
