Case

The typical break-arch mahogany case, brass-bound with a triple pad top and brass bow handle, the front door with narrow stiles and brass-framed break arch aperture and brass corner moldings, the sides with arched silk-backed brass, sitting on a moulded base on small brass moulded bracket feet.

Dial

7 inch break arch brass dial with asymmetric rococo spandrels. The arch engraved with foliage, signed and numbered, Vulliamy London 565 between the vitreous enamel STRIKE/SILENT and 0-60 pendulum regulation subsidiaries. The enamel chapter ring with Roman hours and Arabic minutes further signed VULLIAMY LONDON to the centre and with typical pierced blued-steel hands, the rear of dial scratched 565.

Movement

Substantial plates with five plain baluster pillars, twin fusees and spring barrels, verge escapement with half-deadbeat escapement and spring suspended lenticular pendulum adjusted by bridged regulation with hinged holdfast. Rack striking and trip repeating on a large bell, the backplate engraved with asymmetric rococo scrolls, foliage and flowers, signed Vulliamy London 565. The pendulum bob also stamped 565, the wooden handled crank winding key with tapered brass shaft and extension for the subsidiary squares.
