Case

After the design of the famed Tompion clock, of tête de poupée cartouche outline with cushion-moulded top above concave-sided zone with pierced brass frets, three brass urn finials and a breakarch brass moulding above the circular dial bezel, the carcass veneered overall in tortoiseshell inlaid with pewter forming lined-panels containing foliage and husk drops, the front with a sunburst to the breakarch.

Dial

4½ inch (114 mm) circular dial with silvered chapter ring, engraved gilt centre and pierced blued-steel hands.

Movement

The circular-plated, twin going barrel movement with vertical platform lever escapement planted on the backplate, hour and half-hour striking on a bell on the backplate.
