Frodsham & Son. A Fine Burr Birch and Ebony Miniature Fusee Timepiece.
A fine and small English fusee timepiece by Frodsham and Son.
The lovely richness of colour to this fine little clock veneered in burr birch having ebony mouldings and bronze feet capture the eye not just through its delicate size and proportions but also the way the fine veneers have aged. The style and design only matched by a single fusee chain driven key wound movement with anchor escapement. The brass and steel pendulum with London regulation and screwed pendulum lock. The 3 inch silvered engraved dial with foliot engraving to the top and lower sections with circular minute band and Roman hour numerals, being signed below XII, Frodsham & Son Gracechurch Street London, having blued steel moon hands. The glazed front door with brass knob and silvered chamfered bezel, having veneered sides and glazed back. The mounts below the canted corners are of cast and chased bronze which match the cast and chased bronze feet.
A delightful little clock.
