A Swiss Deck Watch by Ulysse Nardin
The mahogany keep box with a convex ivorine roundel to the hinged lid engraved C. W. NARDIN No. 27774. The inner brass retainer having a screwed-on bezel with silvered sight ring. The solid silver case engraved H.S. 2 (Hydrographic Survey, Chronometer Watch) to the screwed-on back, wound via the crown and with ‘pin’ handset. The white enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer minutes chapter, offset seconds at VI and blued steel spade pattern hands, being signed below XII, ULYSSE NARDIN LOCLE 27774 c.w. The exceptional 30 hour movement of gilded brass, jewelled to the centre and with large, bi-metallic temperature compensated balance with gold timing screws, blued steel overcoil balance spring and micrometer regulation.
